How to Generate ATM PIN Online via SBI Internet Banking

The State Bank of India (SBI), a leading state-owned bank in India, has revamped its banking services to enhance customer convenience. With the latest features in Internet banking, customers can now activate their ATM-cum-Debit cards without needing to visit a branch. This online feature adds ease by saving valuable time for the customers. This guide explains how to generate an ATM Pin in SBI using online net banking.
Traditionally, a new ATM cardholder had to visit a bank branch to receive their activation pin. But, in today's busy lifestyle, that's often a challenge. SBI’s internet banking allows customers to generate their ATM pins from any location. Here’s how:
- Navigate to the SBI website and log into your Internet banking account with your user id and password.
- Under 'e-Services', find 'ATM Card Services'. This section offers options like blocking an ATM card, requesting a new one, setting ATM card limits, changing or generating a new ATM pin. These services facilitate quick and easy banking activities.
Steps to Generate ATM PIN SBI Online:
- Go to the official SBI portal, https://onlinesbi.com, and log in using your user id and password.
- Once logged in, go to the 'e-Services' section and select 'ATM Card Services' from the sidebar.
- Select 'ATM Pin Generation'. You'll need to verify your access by choosing either the Profile Password or OTP (one-time password) option. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile.
- Enter your profile password and hit 'submit'.
- If you have multiple linked accounts, select the desired one and click 'continue'.
- The next screen displays the activated cards for that account. Choose the card requiring a pin and click 'submit'. If it's not listed, check under 'New Cards'.
- You'll be asked to enter the first two digits of your preferred pin. After this, SBI sends the remaining digits to your mobile.
- Enter the final two digits received on your phone and click 'submit'. Your ATM card will now be activated for numerous online transactions and services.
Note: There is a service charge of Rs. 51 for changing the ATM pin via online SBI.
