In India, Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has regained its regular operating hours across branches following the COVID-19 lockdown. From Monday to Saturday (excluding 2nd and 4th Saturdays, Sundays, and bank holidays), all KVB branches will be open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This decision was made in consultation with the respective state governments. The bank is taking extra precautions such as contactless service, social distancing, and enhanced cleanliness to ensure the safety of its customers.

During the initial months of the lockdown, KVB had limited its operations to essential banking services only. However, now all banking services, including passbook updates, account openings, cheque clearances, cash deposit/withdrawal, remittances, and credit card bill payments, are available at the bank.

To ensure the well-being of its account holders, KVB advises following social distancing rules and visiting the bank only when necessary. Alternatively, customers can utilize KVB Net-banking or Mobile Banking services for a convenient and safe banking experience.

NEFT and RTGS Timings: Encouraging Online Banking

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has implemented 48 half-hourly settlement batches every day for NEFT transactions. The first batch starts at 00:30 hours, while the last batch ends at 00:00 hours. Additionally, service charges for online NEFT fund transfers have been waived during the lockdown period. This initiative aims to promote online banking and discourage unnecessary visits to branch offices.

Moreover, KVB has introduced round-the-clock Real-time Gross Settlement (RTGS) facilities since December 2020, providing customers with a seamless and efficient fund transfer experience.

Working Hours and Lunch Breaks

On weekdays (Monday to Friday), KVB operates from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. However, please note that the bank remains closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, as well as Sundays and public holidays. It's important to keep in mind that bank timings may vary across branches.

KVB does not observe fixed lunch breaks for its employees. Instead, lunch breaks are taken on a rotational basis to ensure uninterrupted customer service. Thus, customers can avail banking services without concern about branch closures during lunch hours.

Locker Operations and Additional Information

Locker services are available during the bank's working hours. KVB does not provide extended time for locker operations. Prospective customers can apply for safe deposit lockers within the bank's regular working hours.
