Karur Vysya Bank: Post-Lockdown Operating Hours & Tips
In India, Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) has resumed its normal operating hours across branches after the COVID-19 lockdown. Operating from Monday to Saturday, except on 2nd and 4th Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, all KVB branches welcome customers from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This decision was in consultation with state governments, prioritizing extra safety measures such as contactless services, social distancing, and improved cleanliness for customer safety.
Initially, during the lockdown, KVB restricted its operations to essential services. However, it has now expanded to include full banking services such as passbook updates, account openings, cheque clearances, cash deposit/withdrawal, remittances, and credit card payments.
For customer well-being, KVB advises maintaining social distance and visiting branches only when necessary. Alternatively, customers are encouraged to use KVB Net-banking or Mobile Banking for a safer, convenient experience.
NEFT and RTGS Timings: Promoting Online Banking
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has established 48 half-hourly settlement batches daily for NEFT transactions, starting at 00:30 hours with the final batch ending at 00:00 hours. Online NEFT fund transfers have no service charges during the lockdown to encourage digital banking over physical branch visits.
Furthermore, since December 2020, KVB introduced 24/7 Real-time Gross Settlement (RTGS) facilities, ensuring efficient fund transfers for customers.
Working Hours and Lunch Breaks
From Monday to Friday, KVB operates from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Note that the bank is closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, along with Sundays and public holidays. Branch timings might differ. While KVB does not have fixed lunch breaks, employees take them rotationally, ensuring continuous customer service without closure during lunch hours.
Locker Operations and Additional Information
KVB offers locker services during normal working hours without extended times. Customers interested in safe deposit lockers can apply within these hours.
