Taxes can either be a percentage of the vehicle's cost or a fixed amount, depending on specified criteria for each vehicle category. Being a one-time payment, once settled, no further road tax is required throughout the vehicle’s lifespan.

Haryana Two-Wheeler Road Tax

For two-wheelers, taxes depend on the weight or price for new vehicles and value for those from other states.

  • Below ₹20,000 | 2%
  • ₹20,000 to ₹60,000 | 4%
  • ₹60,000 to ₹2 lakh | 6%
  • More than ₹2 lakh | 8%

Haryana Four-Wheeler Road Tax

Four-wheelers are taxed based on their purchase price:

  • Up to ₹6 lakhs | 3% of vehicle value
  • ₹6 lakhs & up to ₹10 lakhs | 6% of vehicle value
  • ₹10 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs | 8% of vehicle value
  • Above ₹20 lakhs | 10% of vehicle value

*These rates apply to private non-transport vehicles.

Road Tax for Commercial Vehicles in Haryana

Commercial vehicles are taxed at 2% of the vehicle’s cost with the following slabs:

  • Up to four seats | ₹600 quarterly
  • Four to six seats | ₹625 quarterly
  • Seven to twelve seats | ₹1450 quarterly

Payment of Road Tax in Haryana

Road tax can be paid at any district RTO office. Required forms and documents, like vehicle registration and ID proof, must be submitted there. This straightforward process is mandatory for both new and old vehicle purchases.
