Singapore established the Board of Commissioners of Currency on April 7, 1967, and issued its first coins and notes. As of 2019, the Singapore Dollar ranks as the thirteenth-most traded currency globally by value. Besides its use in Singapore, the SGD is also accepted in Brunei under the Currency Interchangeability Agreement between the Monetary Authorities of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
