PAN, or Permanent Account Number, is a distinct 10-character alphanumeric identifier issued by the Indian Income Tax Department to every taxpayer, crucial for tracking financial transactions, such as filing Income Tax Returns, investing in mutual funds, or applying for loans.

Checking PAN Card Details by Name and Date of Birth:

  1. Access the Income Tax E-Filing portal.
  2. Select 'Verify your PAN' within 'Quick Links.'
  3. Enter your PAN, complete name, Date of Birth, and mobile number.
  4. Submit the OTP sent to your mobile and click 'Validate.'
  5. Receive confirmation: 'PAN is active and details match PAN records.'

Finding PAN Card Details Using PAN Number:

  1. Visit the Income Tax E-Filing page.
  2. Click 'Register' and input your PAN number.
  3. Provide required personal details accurately.
  4. Check your email for account activation steps.
  5. Log in to the official Income Tax Department site.
  6. Under 'Profile Settings,' view 'PAN Details.'
  7. Review PAN details such as name, address, area code, and jurisdiction.

Discovering Address on PAN Card:

  1. Go to the Income Tax E-Filing site.
  2. Select 'Login' at the top right.
  3. Log in with your PAN/Aadhaar/User ID and password.
  4. Select 'PAN Details' under 'Profile Setting.'

Updating PAN Card Information:

  3. Complete the declaration, submit, and pay using net banking, demand draft, credit, or debit card.
  4. Verify application via Aadhaar-based e-Sign.
  5. Post-payment, download and print the acknowledgment receipt.

To change your PAN address using Aadhaar, ensure your mobile/email is linked to Aadhaar. Visit NSDL or UTIITSL portals and:

  1. Enter PAN, Aadhaar, email, and mobile number.
  2. Agree to terms, input the captcha, and submit.
  3. Validate using the OTP sent to your mobile/email.
