In today's digital age, updating your mobile number on your Aadhaar card is a simplified process thanks to the user-friendly features on UIDAI's online portal. The Self-service Update Portal (SSUP) allows you to seamlessly link your mobile number to your Aadhaar card. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to change your mobile number online:

Changing Your Mobile Number Online:

Step 1: Visit the online portal of UIDAI.

Step 2: Enter the registered phone number you wish to update and complete the captcha code.

Step 3: Click on 'Send OTP' and enter the OTP received on your mobile.

Step 4: Submit the OTP and proceed.

Step 5: From the 'Online Aadhaar Services' menu, select the option to update your mobile number.

Step 6: Provide the necessary information and submit your new phone number.

Step 7: Upon redirection to a new page, enter the captcha code.

Step 8: After completing the previous step, verify the OTP received on your phone.

Step 9: Click on 'Save and Proceed.'

Following these steps, book an appointment at the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. Visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the scheduled time, pay a nominal charge, and provide additional documents if required to complete the process.

Verifying Your Linked Mobile Number:

Step 1: Sign in to UIDAI’s online portal.

Step 2: Under the 'Online Aadhaar Services' dropdown menu, select 'Verify Email/Mobile Number.'

Step 3: Insert your Aadhaar card number, registered mobile number, and email ID along with the security code to receive an OTP.

Step 4: Enter the OTP and click on 'Verify OTP.'

Step 5: Upon successful verification, a green tick will be displayed.

For those whose mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, an offline method is available:

Changing Your Mobile Number Offline:

Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre/Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Step 2: Collect the Aadhaar card mobile number update form, fill in the necessary details, including the new phone number.

Step 3: Submit the form to the official responsible for updating Aadhaar details.

Step 4: After biometric authentication, pay a nominal fee for the service.

Step 5: Receive an acknowledgment slip with the Update Request Number (URN).

Step 6: Use the URN on UIDAI’s website or dial 1947 to track the status of your update request.
